Steve Stallings, PA-C

Mr Stallings began his medical career as a combat medic in the late 1960’s. Following a tour in Vietnam, he returned to the states and attended the US Army/Baylor program for Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Following graduation in 1976, he had several assignments culminating as Chief Technologist/NCOIC of the US Army Biomedical Research Laboratory, Edgewood Arsenal, Md.

He was selected for the US Army/Creighton University Physician Assistant in 1981 and graduated from the US Army Academy of Health Sciences, Ft. Sam Houston,Tx in 1984. He served in various assignments practicing Family Medicine and/or Emergency Medicine. Mr. Stallings was very active in PA education and served as the clinical preceptor/co-ordinator for PA training at Ft. Campbell, Ky. His capstone assignment was serving as the senior divison PA First Cavalry Div, Ft. Hood in the run up to Desert Storm.

Steve joined a family practice in rural Kentucky following army retirement. He became active in the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants and was elected as the “Director at large. He relocated to Texas in June of 1994 to staff a rural health clinic in central Texas. Over the next decade, he was staff at Scott and White (emergency medicine) and St Joseph Regional Health Center (Family Med) in Bryan/College Station. During that time, he established the Brazos Valley PA Association, serving as president for two years and served as a member of the St Joseph Medical Staff Committee. During that time he served as board member of the Robertson County Tax Appraisal District, Chair of Youth Committee First Baptist, Team PA for Bremond Tiger Football, and various medical volunteer opportunities.

Mr Stallings relocated to Cypress, Tx in 2008 practicing as a member of a regional Emergency Medicine group. He decided to return to Family Medicine in 2009 joining Kingwood Family Medicine where he remained until that practice closed. He and his wife took a hiatus, traveling and visiting until Steve felt compelled to return to practice. He rejoined HFP May 2017 and is thrilled to be back. He is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He is a certified Bio-T provider, and is a certified national medical examiner for DOT.

Steve and his wife Jo have seven children and fourteen grandchildren. They reside in Cypress, near several of their grandkids.
