Dr. Mindy Hoang graduated from Austin College in 1992 and from the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in 1996. She spent her general surgery residency at the Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, from 1997 to 2000.
She is a diplomate of the American Academy of Family Medicine since 2000, and is a member of several associations, including the Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Society and American Academy of Family Physicians. She has been rated a top family doctor by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
Dr. Hoang has used the adversity she has faced in life to drive her passion for family care. She was born in Vietnam, the oldest of four children. When she was 14, she lost her mother to breast cancer shortly after she arrived in the U.S. to seek treatment. Dr. Hoang fulfilled her mother’s wish for her to seek education, enrolling in high school in the U.S. and taking care of her younger siblings while finishing her studies. Because she knows the importance of dedicated health care, Dr. Hoang treats all of her patients like family and abides by the motto, “Patient’s First.” To Dr. Hoang, the most important thing is helping her patients get well. Everything else is secondary.
She has lived in Atascocita since 2000 and married her husband, a former Marine, in 1999. She has two stepdaughters and one stepson. When time permits, she enjoys reading, growing orchids and making crafts.
